Opinion leader on rural reform and development in China, "One of China's movers and shakers"

Professor Wen is a prolific researcher of rural economies and development. For more than two decades, Wen has been leading the experimental rural reform in China. Not just a man of the theory, he also  bases his research on massive field investigations across the country. The abolishment of the agricultural tax, the needed medical reform, organic farming, urbanization of the country side, organization building... no subject concerning the rural area has been left untouched by Wen.
Wen is advising the central government on its agricultural policies.

In 2003, Wen was named one of the "Top 10 Economic Talents" by China Central Television (CCTV) .
