Preparing an item for Shanghai's English channel

Jacqueline Chen of BizChina at CCTV9

Officially it has not yet been announced, but the Shanghai Media Group (SMG) is starting in January a 24-hour English TV channel and yours truly has been asked to fill ten minutes of that. The Chinabiz Speakers are of course going to be an integral part of that, although I did have some problems in explaining to the producer what a speakers' bureau actually does.
They want to show foreigners in China who do really interesting things. Now, I thought it would be a show like I have seen them in the past very often (I do not watch TV anymore), where an attractive young presenter ("Glad you wanted to be in our show") is talking to an unknown, old and ugly foreigner of a company I had never heard off ("I very honored to be on this show") would bore each other and their suggested audience to death with politically correct statements. Even I assumed those interviewers must have been pretty smart to end up with CCTV anyway, they would never show that.
This should be different at the new channel of the SMG and the producer was even looking for "visual attractive" situations. Ouch, that is going to be a challenge in our line of business. Will get the brain working on the weekend again, let me know if you have some ideas.
